A new batch of Love Baguettes
Until 15 October, Aides - an association dedicated to fighting Aids and hepatitis – will be collecting the proceeds of the third edition of the camping Love baguette.
Baked in the shape of the emblematic red ribbon the baguettes are sold for 2 euros at the 1,038 participating bakeries. One euro is paid back to the association and this year all the funds collected will go towards purchasing testing kits. Indeed, for Aides the priority is to encourage the 25,000 individuals in France who unknowingly carry the virus to get tested. The twofold objective is to enable them to get treatment and to prevent new infections. Last year Aides was able to purchase approximately 50,000 prevention and testing kits. Since 2017, the association has collected a total of 150,000 euros thanks to 2,000 participating bakeries.
New in 2019: the Love Baguette is available at approximately twenty professional bakery training centres that entered the apprentice Love Baguette contest, as well as at a dozen of railway stations including in Nancy, Nimes, Bordeaux, Avignon, Poitiers and Paris.
